SUNSET | Mt. Batulao: Begged For a Chance of Reds

g
While waiting for my friends setting up camp who just came for an overnight, I decided to just wait for Batulao's sunset in contrast to what my bf planned earlier which was to descend at once to avoid night trek because we forgot our lamps. Actually I asked him from the start if we could wait sunset at the summit and he said NO. Then I just bargained along the trails, and said "let's see". So was kinda disappointed then coz I really wanna have a sunset or a surise shoot everytime I went on mountains.

4PM we started our trail down from the registration area. Along the trail, we saw one of friend and knew that others was just behind. Yes! they're going to camp. My buddy went to back to campsite to help others to pitch their tents. I sat at peak 6 where every hikers pass and took some pictures due to nice scenery the site offer. From there you could see how beautiful the whole area which I think was the highest point of the trail to camp. I waited couple of minutes, several hikers came but still they're fixing their things so I took the opportunity to catch what I really love about mountaineering.

Skies starting to turn yellows but sun was still high. Still waited for more minutes, no friends coming, more people pass by. Actually that was my first time to wait and capture a sunset in mountain setting, which I thought might not happened because of time pressure of going back to jump-off immediately.

Then a dog came coming from a far. Oh that's the dog from the trails to summit! It came closer to me acting like it want some food, but unfortunately I haven't. So he just stayed and apears to be waiting for someone. Good girl!

Sky was really in orange and reds when my companions came which signals for us to go for decent. I was sad then because I haven't had a chance to see how Mt. Batulao really looks like at sun down. As we continued our trek, I kept on looking back to see if I could capture the scene I want to see.

Unfortunately, the sun hid behind the clouds and just captured the reds and turquoise sky of Batulao, an amazing scene. Another two hours for the jump-off and it was late we were benighted at the trails, but nothing the less it was really worth to revisit for.
